Ambition with Strategy: CAD Planning partners with the Cornish Pirates

CAD Planning are delighted to announce a new partnership with the Cornish Pirates, as part of CAD Architects Ltd becoming the club’s Official Architecture and Planning Partner.

Our new signage now sits proudly alongside CAD Architects and CAD Heritage on the crowd-facing hoardings of the Tribute Stand, putting all three areas of our business in prominent view at the home of the Pirates.

So why the Pirates?

For us, planning is ultimately about people.

Well-considered development can positively shape the future of places and communities, both directly and indirectly.

The Cornish Pirates have always been driven to succeed on the pitch, but their emerging development strategy recognises that investment, commercial growth and the development of local talent must work together to create the conditions to compete sustainably at the highest level.

That kind of thinking resonates strongly with us.

Good planning is about understanding what is needed, recognising opportunities and developing strategies that can deliver positive change. Commercial success and social value do not need to be competing objectives. Growth can create jobs, strengthen local economies, attract investment and open up new opportunities for others.

The launch of the Cornish Pirates Foundation amplifies that potential, demonstrating how the reach and resources of a successful commercial organisation can also be used to deliver wider social benefits within its local communities, extending its positive impact far beyond employment and recreation.

The route from initial ambition to a successful outcome is rarely a straight line. In a changing world, vision and drive must be balanced with judgement to successfully navigate opportunities and constraints, adapt when circumstances change and keep the ultimate objective in sight.

Sunday’s reopening of the Tribute Stand, the Mennaye’s historic grandstand, feels symbolic of this. Severe damage caused by Storm Goretti in January presented the club with a major and unexpected challenge, but through planning, hard work and determination, the club ensured it did not hamper the energy and optimism surrounding the start of a new season and the dawn of an exciting new era for the Pirates.

We are proud to support a club with the ambition to grow and succeed, and an understanding that its success can reach far beyond the rugby pitch.
